Heather Russell Fine

Heather Russell Fine is a Member of Griesing Law, LLC and Chair of the Firm’s ADR & Commercial Litigation practice group.

What do you focus on?

My practice focuses on guiding each client through litigation matters from inception and preparation through to ultimate resolution — whether that resolution is an amicable settlement or trial.  I represent a wide range of national and regional clients, particularly in the product liability and toxic tort fields.

What do you see on the horizon?

Our clients, many of whom are large manufacturers, are increasingly interested in streamlining the operations of their outside counsel in order to ensure they receive top-notch legal services with a high level of personal attention. We work with each client to provide the service they need in an efficient and cost-effective manner.  It also appears that many types of product liability cases are now moving towards a class action model. Early and intensive investigation, document management and discovery efforts are essential to preparing and defending this type of litigation.

Biography

Heather is an experienced civil litigator who has hands-on experience managing all aspects of complex product liability cases from inception through to verdict and appeal. She also oversees and supervises the employment litigation for the firm with particular emphasis on all aspects of e-discovery.

Prior to joining Griesing Law, Heather was a Member at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC in Philadelphia where she focused her practice on product liability and mass tort defense matters, in particular in the representation of manufacturers of automobiles and automobile component parts, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and retail corporations.  In that role, Heather was in courtrooms from Maine to Alaska for cases ranging from arbitration-level breach of warranty issues to complex trial matters involving claims of catastrophic personal injury based on allegations of product defect.

Heather graduated from Clark University and received her juris doctor from University of Maine School of Law.  She is a volunteer for Philadelphia Reads, a nonprofit organization, in partnership with The Free Library of Philadelphia and the School District of Philadelphia that fosters independence in literacy through mentoring.  Heather was also previously on the Board of Directors of JEVS Human Services, an organization providing adult residential and day services, personal care assistance, job skills training, career management, vocational rehabilitation, and recovery services.
